Rachel Taylor-Beales New Live Album Released!

PRESS RELEASE AUGUST 2012

RACHEL TAYLOR-BEALES RELEASES NEW LIVE ALBUM
AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD FREE FROM BANDCAMP AUGUST 01/ 2012

In June 2012 Rachel and her collective of highly talented musicians were due to enter Welsh Studio Felin Fach and record a 6 track EP of new songs featuring special guests including her previous collaborator multi-instrumentalist and guitar virtuoso Dylan Fowler as well as the highly acclaimed bassist Paul Gray (formerly of The Damned/ Eddie And The Hot Rods/ UFO/ New York Dolls and more)

However, in May just 4 weeks prior to the recording dates, Rachel (then 24 weeks pregnant) fell from stage during a sound-check while on tour in Italy and sustained immobilizing injuries to her lower back and hip, (fortunately the baby was fine and unharmed!)

In light of this all plans and projects scheduled for the coming weeks and months had to be postponed and cancelled as recovery and intensive physiotherapy to restore her body in readiness for the birth of her baby due at the end of August had to take priority!

In the weeks that followed Rachel’s injuries new plans were formed.
The studio EP received an upgrade to full-length album and will be recorded and released in 2013, still featuring the skills of her collective as well as Paul Gray, Dylan Fowler and some additional special guests!

In its place Rachel has decided to release a Live Album of 8 selected tracks recorded with her  ‘Extraordinary Collective’ at a gig in Newport University earlier this year.
The chosen songs reflect new and current arrangements of some familiar tunes. Catrin Anghard (aka Angharad Evans) provides additional lyrics sung in Welsh language. Cellist, Rosy Robinson brings extra backing vocal harmonies as well as new cello dynamic parts while multi-instrumentalist Dylan Fowler adds his electric guitar, slide and piano and mandocello into the mix.

The collective were also joined by two hidden members at the time of recording as Rachel was then 14 weeks pregnant and Rosy 20 weeks!

The ‘Live at Newport University’ album is released on Hushland Records and will be available to download for free on Band-Camp from August the 1st 2012. Rachel will then be on maternity leave after this time but will be taking bookings again after May 2013. For more info and updates in the meantime please visit her website and follow her on twitter.
(New LIVE CD available to download for free from August the 1st 2012)
